Happy start to the new school year! Here’s some basic info about me: I’m from Franklin, MA (~50 min outside Boston), roughly a 13 hour drive/2 hour plane ride from Chapel Hill. Apart from CUSA, you may know me as: a CNA at Duke Hospital’s dialysis unit (hopefully your kidneys are staying strong and you don’t run into me here), a Karen M. Gil intern, a clinical research assistant for Parkinson’s Disease, and/or (the most unfortunate) your CHEM241 ULA. Some of my hobbies include: reading (recently joined a book club!), minesweeper, crocheting, cooking, and coupling post-dinner walks with lively conversation.

I am from Wilmington, North Carolina. Some of my other extracurriculars include being finance chair for UNC CARVR, planning committee for UNCQC, and interning for a private startup. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, cooking, and playing the piano (played for over 10 years)! I joined CUSA because I never really had the opportunity of being part of a cultural club in high school. Joining CUSA was one of the best decisions of my life as I have made so many valuable connections and memories in this community, one that I can really call home.

Kiki Wang

I’m Kiki and I’m from Greenville, North Carolina. Some of my hobbies include reading books in a single sitting, looking for new restaurants to try, and traveling for concerts! I’ll be spending Fall 2024 studying abroad in Hong Kong 🙂 I joined CUSA initially to connect with others with similar cultural backgrounds and I stayed to spread our love of Chinese culture to others in the UNC community. My favorite CUSA memory each year is watching everyone come together to have fun and put on a show for CNY!

Susan Zhang

Hey, my name is Susan, and I am from Asheville NC! I like to go running, hiking, and cafe hopping in my free time! Coming to UNC, I knew I wanted to join a club that continues to enhance my understanding of my Chinese heritage. However, I definitely stayed for the people and the relationships I’ve built with everyone on board! My favorite CUSA memory must be the hangouts we have from homemade pizza night to karaoke. I’m Sarah and I’m from Beijing, China. Outside of CUSA, i’m also involved in clinical psychology research and work in IT. in my free time, I love going to cafes, reading, and thrifting! I’m an international student, so CUSA gives me a piece of home when I’m at UNC. I love CUSA exec hangouts (esp hotpot and karaoke) and CNY!

my name is xixi and im from muar, malaysia! i’m the publicity chair, so i handle the cusa instagram (@unccusa), emails, and this website! i’m in ukdt and app team, and i love fashion, playing video games, and jake from enhypen LMAO. during my freshman year, i was one of cusa’s first year reps! it really helped me grow a lot in leadership and connecting with others; my college life would not have been the same without it. everyone on board is so passionate about chinese culture and deeply loves the chapel hill community <3

i’m from shelby, nc but i’ve moved around a couple places along the east coast! i’ve lived in south carolina, florida, new jersey, and philadelphia. i like to collect dorky figurines and indulge in brain rot. i also love all kinds of music! i wanted to join cusa to be apart of events like cny and maf! i was especially drawn by a karaoke event cusa held during my freshmen year where i got to know people more. also, the people on board hold themselves to high standards and are one of the most genuine people i know <3

Hi everyone! My name is Rebekah Wu and I am from Franklin, North Carolina. I am currently one of the Co-Photography Chairs for CUSA and one of the Cultural Chairs for Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority at UNC Chapel Hill. I love cooking with friends, thrifting, reading, and shooting film photography in my free time. Feel free to reach out, I love meeting new people and am always open to talking or making new friends! I joined CUSA to find an inner community and that I did! I love the constant comfort and inspiration I see in the people surrounding me. CUSA is a community that keeps changing and growing and it is beautiful to see.
